This is the most blogged, tweeted, and pinned recipe I have ever created. I came up with it years ago and then forgot all about it until I was looking through an old cooking notebook of mine. It’s a surefire crowd-pleaser.
The perfect bite! I remember the first time I had hot chevre. It was a few years back in Paris. I can't remember if it had honey on it or if that is something I added later. Now I can not eat hot chevre without a drizzle of honey, its like they where made for each other. The perfect Marriage. This is in my head the perfect appetizer. Sour cheese, sweet honey and the salty tapenade. It's the perfect bite!
I feel like this ingredient will divide the country in half. You love oysters or you don't. There is no middle way. I'm not a big fan myself, I wished I loved them, but the simple fact is that I don't. But I do love working with them. When we shot the oyster story in SPM fall issue, we got a large box of oysters from Nonsuch Oysters in Maine. Colin loves them and he tasted himself through the whole day. Enjoy!
