Lavender Martini with Candied Lavender

I walked passed this stand at the farmers market filled with fresh lavender and off course I had to buy some.

It fills my house with a wonderful smell, kinda reminds me of my Mormor, she loved lavender.

I remember years ago I was served this lavender Martini.

I have vodka and I have lavender, so lets make lavender Martinis.

They are delicious, fragrant and oh so deadly….

I never serve anything in a martini glass, I don't get them.

When Im out and order a martini I ask them to put it in a regular glass.

(I know, they all love me)

The candied lavender is a very nice touch, also great as garnish on a cake or cupcakes.

Makes 4 cocktails

1 1/2 cups water

1/2 cup sugar

6 fresh lavender flowers


For candies lavender:

fresh lavender

1 egg white



1.Start with the lavender syrup.Place water, sugar and lavender in a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Let it simmer for 10 minutes and cool. Strain the syrup.

2.In a shaker filled with ice place 1 part syrup and 2 parts vodka and give it a good shake.

3.Pour into glasses and serve.

4.If you want to add the candied lavender you wash it first, dip it in egg whites that has been slightly beaten and dipped in sugar. 

Let them dry and ready to use.
