I was only introduced to these peppers last summer on a trip to New Jersey.
I was a bit worried about biting into these peppers as I have a bad pepper experience in the past, but these where nothing like I ever tasted.
Spicy, yes, but in a very smooth way.
And they are so easy to make at home.
All you need is some shishito peppers, a little oil, salt and a pinch of cumin. (If you want them really spicy just ad a pinch of red chili flakes)
Heat a skillet and add oil and peppers.
Cook until blistered on both sides.
Add salt and cumin and serve.
Great with a glass of beer.
