You will need:

Pumpkin, hallowed-out, clean, & dry

Battery-powered string of mini-lights

Awl, or drill

  1. Cut your pumpkin around the stem, remove the top and scoop out the pulp.
  2. Make a crescent moon with an awl. Push the outline of the design through the pumpkin's flesh.
  3. Fit each hole with a bulb from a set of battery-powered string lights.
  4. Put the top back and you are ready to go.
