Recipe by my friend Julia Turshen! From Julia: "I like a short, strong drink, but feel free to dilute this with extra apple cider, soda water, or ginger beer to make it last a little bit longer."
Recipe below, watch my how-to video: This recipe is from my Fall 2015 issue!

You will need:
1 cup apple cider 1⁄2 cup bourbon
1⁄2 cup bourbon
juice of 1 lemon 8 dashes Angostura bitters
8 dashes Angostura bitters
ice 1 small orange, quartered
1 small orange, quartered
4 maraschino cherries - Luxardo brand is the best!
- Put the apple cider, bourbon, lemon juice, and bitters in a pitcher and stir to combine.
- Fill 4 highball glasses with ice and evenly divide the drink between them.
- Squeeze the juice from one orange wedge into one of the glasses (drop it into the drink) and repeat with each drink.
- Give each cocktail a stir and top each one with a cherry.
- Serve immediately.
Note that this drink can easily be multiplied to serve more friends (or so everyone can have seconds...).
