Blood oranges have an amazing sweet taste—and the color is out of this world.

Serves 4

2 cups water

1/3 cup honey

4 tablespoons maple syrup

4 tablespoons sugar

4 blood oranges, skin cut off

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil; add honey, maple syrup and sugar.
  2. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Let cool; add the blood oranges.
  4. Soak oranges in the syrup at least 1 hour. Serve cold.
