This ketchup is both savory and sweet with a little spice too.

Makes about 3 cups

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 red onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 peach, chopped

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes

1 28 ­ounce can chopped tomatoes

3 tablespoons tomato paste

1/3 cup light brown sugar



1 tablespoon molasses



1/4 cup apple cider vinegar


  1. Heat the oil and sauté onion, garlic, peach and ginger until the onion is soft.
  2. Add the spices and mix well.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and let the ketchup simmer on low heat for 45 minutes. Stir now and again so it does not burn.
  4. Allow to cool and pour into a blender and blend until smooth.
  5. Pour into an airtight bottle and keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.

TIP:

Great on anything from a burger to, well yes anything you can put ketchup on.
