You will need:
gingerbread dough
royal icing recipe fromGingerbread Hipsters recipe


  1. Preheat oven to 370°F.
  2. On a floured table, roll out the dough to a thin sheet.
  3. Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
  4. With a sharp knife, cut an opening to the edge of each cookie.
  5. Bake for 3–6 minutes, depending on the size and thickness.
  6. While the cookies are still warm, enlarge the openings a little.
  7. Let cool.
  8. Decorate with royal icing.
