Our all-time favorite holiday cookie is gingerbread. It feels warm and welcoming every year!
You will need:
11⁄3stick of butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
11⁄2 oz molasses
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1⁄2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1⁄2 tablespoon baking soda
3⁄4 cup water
3 cups flour
- Mix butter, sugar, and molasses.
- Add spices and baking soda, then water, and finally part of the flour.
- Mix well and then add in the rest of the flour.
- Let the dough sit overnight, plastic wrapped in the fridge.
