Fresh pineapple is the most delicious thing ever. It’s sweet, juicy, and colorful.

1 fresh pineapple
2 tablespoons butter
1½ cups rum
2 tablespoons sugar
½ vanilla bean, seeds scraped out

  1. Peel the pineapple and cut it into thick slices. Leave the core in.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pan and cook the pineapple until golden on each side.
  3. In a small saucepan, mix rum, sugar, and vanilla. Bring to a boil and simmer for 4 minutes.
  4. Plate the pineapple and serve with the warm rum syrup on top.
