Such a great dessert when you want the taste of cake but don't want to bake one.
5 to 6 thick slices white bread, cubed
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2 cups blueberries
1/2 cup toasted almond slivers
- Preaheat oven to 375F.
- In a bowl mix bread cubes butter, honey and sesame seeds.
- Place on a baking tray and bake until golden, about 1012 minutes.
- While the bread is baking place the blueberries in a bowl and use a fork to mash them slightly. You can add some sugar or honey if you don't think its sweet enough.
- Place the warm bread cubes in bowls and top with mashed blueberries, toasted almond slivers and a dollop of whipped cream.
This dessert tastes best when served while the bread chinks are still warm! Try to add some cinnamon and ginger to the cubes and top with sautéed apples for a wonderful "apple pie" panzanella.
