Poaching in sweet dessert wine makes the pears sing!
1 bottle sweet dessert wine like moscato
1 cup water
1⁄2 cup honey
6 firm pears, peeled
- Place all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Let simmer for 15 minutes. Spoon the hot liquid over the pears from time to time.
- Place the pears on a tray and put under the broiler for a few seconds, just to get some color.
- Pour remaining liquid over the pears to serve.
