A simple syrup by any other name...
1⁄2 cup sugar
1⁄2 cup water
flavor of choice
5 sprigs fresh thyme
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon rose water
- In a small non-reactive pan, combine sugar and water.
- Bring just to a boil over medium heat, stirring so as not to burn, allowing sugar to thoroughly dissolve.
- Reduce heat to low, add flavor, and steep for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cool before using. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
TIP:
Use this for lemonade, cocktails, or desserts!
