This recipe is one I came up with a while back and it works like a charm every time.
Serves 4
1 large can chopped tomatoes
1 cup ale or beer
1 shot of espresso or strong coffee
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon dried thyme
pinch or more of red chili flakes
1 beef bullion cube
1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
10 cloves of garlic, whole
1/2 cup finely chopped carrot
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
splash of soy sauce
1 tablespoon Sriacha sauce
1 Lb ground lean beef
1 small can white beans
For serving:
Avocado
parsley
extra chili flakes
- Place all the ingredients in a slow cooker except the beans, mix well and put it on high.
- Let it simmer for at least 4 hours, I would say 6 hours is optimal.
- Add the beans about 15 minutes before serving.
- Serve in large bowl with avocado, parsley and extra chili flakes.
