Cheers to the season!

Holiday season is cocktail season in the Sweet Paul household! Every year I love to come up with a festive signature drink to serve to guests and to enjoy myself. We all need a little escape from the hustle and bustle of the season. This year’s cocktail is my Ruby Grapefruitini: a simple gin and soda cocktail topped with a slice of bruleed grapefruit. The star of this drink is theSipp Sparkling Organics Ruby Rose soda. It’s a complex concoction of organic grapefruit, rosemary, and a touch of honey—in a word—sublime!
Makes 4 cocktails
4 slices of pink grapefruit
4 teaspoons sugar
ice
3 ounces pink grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed if you can
6 ounces gin
2 bottles of Sipp Ruby Rose organic soda
4 slices of pink grapefruit
4 teaspoons sugar
ice
3 ounces pink grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed if you can
6 ounces gin
2 bottles of Sipp Ruby Rose organic soda
- For the bruleed grapefruit garnish, place the grapefruit slices on a parchment-covered baking sheet.
- Watch carefully as you broil the slices in the oven until they start to brown and the sugar starts to bubble. Remove when the sugar is beautifully melted and browned.
- For the cocktail, fill your glasses with ice. Add the grapefruit juice and gin, and stir.
- Top off with Sipp Ruby Rose organic soda, and garnish with a bruleed grapefruit slice.
TIP:
You can substitute any lightly flavored sparkleing beverage for this, but I really really love my Sipp!
