This has been a very meat heavy week, so I'm going to end it with a lighter burger. My take on a veggie burger. It's really good, and that's coming from a guy who loves his meat. Most of all it has a great texture, soothing Im ofter missing in a veggie burger. It was fun having our first ever Burger Week, hope you all enjoyed. And don't forget to join our amazing giveaway. Serves 4

1 can chickpeas, rinse and drained
4 scallions, chopped
1 cup cooked bulgur
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 egg
1 tablespoon mustard
1/3 cup mayo
salt and pepper
olive oil
tomato slices
BBQ sauce

  1. Place chickpeas, scallions, bulgur, breadcrumbs, ginger, cumin, egg, mustard and mayo in a blender and whizz until smooth.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Shape into 4 patties and brush with olive oil.
  4. Place on a medium hot grill, they need 5-6 minutes on each side for done.
  5. Serve the burgers with lettuce, tomato, buns and BBQ sauce.


These are awesome, have a great texture and is a great alternative to meat or fish.
